NY-based DJ and Creative, Pamela Tick, exemplifies the meaning of multi-hyphenate. Pamela began her career as a fashion assistant growing a large following on Instagram. Pamela quickly picked up DJing and from there, her presence in front of the camera and on social media took off.

Pamela’s look plays on polarity, toeing the line between ultra fem, with her signature waist-length blonde hair and her cool, chic tomboy style. Pamela’s love for music is what brought her to DJ. After being told she has excellent music knowledge and a knack for starting a party, she began playing events in New York City and then soon started playing top events around the globe. Pamela recently announced that she is expecting her first baby with husband, Ryan. Read on for what she is listening to all summer long.

What role does music play in your life?

Music is the thread to life for me as it ties together so many important times in my past, present, and future. Whenever I hear an old song it makes me reminisce about a past memory. When I hear a new song, it inspires me to create new memories and think about the good things to come. It’s a rush of emotion.

What is your first music memory?

Sitting in the back of my dad’s car growing up, listening to Elvis and some of the best of 50’s music. Always looking out the window, smiling, and singing along. It was magnetic!

What is your absolute favorite song?

Harvest Moon by Neil Young

What is the inspiration behind the playlist you created? Why did you choose these songs?

The inspiration behind this playlist is about everyone’s urge to get back on the dance floor, wherever that may be. Even if it’s mental. A true ‘feel good’ playlist for all of us who are ready to burst with energy!

When would you listen to a playlist like the one you created?

When I need a feeling of euphoria. This playlist is to get in the mood! Whether it’s just cruising, going out, seeing friends again for the first time, dancing alone in your apartment, I can guarantee you’ll feel as good as I did when I chose these songs. Enjoy!
