Whether you watch the Real Housewives of Atlanta or not you’ve probably seen the name Porsha Williams down your social media timeline all week. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was the topic of conversation after the show’s three-part season reunion aired — the final installment was on Sunday, April 9. Immediately following the reunion, on Monday, April 10, Williams sent the internet into a tizzy after news broke out that she is dating — and possibly engaged — to her former co-star Falynn Guobadia’s estranged husband (whew, are you following along?). And now it looks like Williams is getting a three-part limited series on Bravo. “It was greenlit months ago, so it has nothing to do with this [engagement] news,” a source told Page Six. “The special is supposed to focus on Porsha, her activism and her family.” The 39-year-old reality star recently spent a lot of her time focused on social justice activism. Based in Atlanta, she got involved with the Black Lives Matter movement at its peak in 2020 and was arrested twice at Breonna Taylor protests in Louisville, Kentucky last year.
However, since Williams’ new fiancé, Simon Guobadia, has seemingly become a bigger part of the reality star’s life recently, there is a chance their budding romance will make it onto the show, Page Six reported. “If she’s engaged to him and she’s pregnant [with his child], that could change things,” the insider told the paper. “It would obviously become part of [the special].” Her fiancé even posted to his own Instagram saying “I’d like to seize this opportunity to thank every well-wisher of Porsha and I, whether via phone, text, or DM. You affirm my believe (sic) that finding love is possible for everyone who genuinely seeks one. Getting married again was never a question in my mind, but when. Did not expect to be blessed with a mate so soon. The interesting thing about life is that it is an individual journey. Porsha and I, with the support of our loved ones, have chosen to travel together as one and spread love and positivity to our community which is in desperate need of positive and healthy images of the best versions of ourselves.”
The limited series will begin shooting sometime mid-summer and production will not be moved up despite Williams’ big life change. This is not the first time Williams has gotten her own RHOA spin-off. In 2019, Bravo released “Porsha’s Having a Baby,” which focused on her pregnancy journey with her first child with ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley. Fans of the hit reality show had opposing feelings on how the situation was resolved with Guobadia’s ex-wife and Williams’ castmate, Falynn, but Porscha wants those who “need facts” to know that the divorce has nothing to do with her. She shared a heartwarming post about her current relationship and its whirlwind romance on Instagram. “Our relationship began a month ago — yes we are crazy in love. I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and to me, that is what matters most.”
