In celebration of 25 years of Pokémon, famed French crystal house Baccarat has paid homage to the cute pop culture icons from the video series (and our childhoods) by giving the creatures a luxurious crystal make-over. Created by Japanese artist and Fragment chief Hiroshi Fujiwara and Baccarat crystal artisans, in a somewhat surprising collab the Pokémon X Baccarat Collection features two limited-edition Pikachu figurines and a gold-finished Poké Ball.

“Pickachu has captivated the world for a quarter of a century. More dazzling than ever in a Baccarat version, it is transformed into a collector’s item, ” said a spokesperson for the French crystal brand. While the first incarnation of Pikachu is a little abstract (a multi-faceted fragment statuette engraved with the “Electric” logo), the second offers a more realistic rendering of the ever-recognizable character.

Alas, only 25 of the Pikachu Fragment figurines (which fetch $25,000 a pop) were ever created and they are all sold out. You can shop Pokémon Pikachu and Pokémon Poké Ball, though unsurprisingly they too are selling like hotcakes. That said, considering the love and nostalgia evoked by the franchise, we’re hoping and praying there are more to come.  Bacarrat Go!
