New York Fashion Tech Lab celebrated its 2023 cohort with its 10th annual Demo Day Experience in New York City. Each lab company, including Sociate, Altr, Hue, Sparkbox, PsykheAI and TYB, presented their innovative solutions to a crowd of over 100 retailers, brands and media, and showcased their technology, roadmaps and KPIs in their presentations.
Each company was selected for their work in providing inventive solutions in user-generated content, digital fashion, price optimization, AI-driven chat capabilities, personalization and more. They all participated in a 12-week-long program where they collaborated with NYFTLab’s retail and brand partners to enhance business development. They engaged in curated workshops, weekly sessions and held meetings with investors and senior executives from the Lab’s network of experts.
The network featured Saks, Selfridges, TJX, and Wolverine World Wide, Inc, who joined for the first time this year, as well as longtime partners including Burberry, Macy’s Inc, Levi Strauss & Co, LVMH, Richemont, Vera Bradley Inc. Accenture and Fenwick & West LLP.
The founders of each company presented during the event, held at Lavan NYC. Janvi Shah, who founded Hue in 2021 with Sylvan Guo and Nicole Clay in Boston, spoke about the company, which enables brands and retailers to embed short-form shoppable user-generated video reviews on their websites.
Yasmin Topia is the co-founder and CEO of Sociate, an AI personal stylist that can see and speak to help customers quickly find what they love, making shopping a more curated and effortless experience. At Demo Day, Topia mingled with other founders including Try Your Best COO and co-founder Breana Teubner [above], who created the end-to-end community engagement platform allowing brands to directly connect, engage and reward fans with CEO and co-founder Ty Haney.
PSYKHE AI co-founder and CEO Anabel Maldonado was on-hand to speak about the AI and psychology-powered merchandising and personalization platform she created in 2019 to enable retailers to hyper-personalize the customer experience.
Jessie Fu spoke about Altr, the digital fashion platform dedicated to unlocking the value of archival and vintage fashion, which she started in 2022.
And Lindsay Fisher, who co-founded Sparkbox in 2018 as a platform for data-driven pricing and inventory planning to improve profits and reduce waste, also presented during Demo Day.
