As we get closer and closer to the series finale of Pose, it’s only natural to start wondering what’s next for the talented and glamorous cast of FX’s groundbreaking drama. Well, we now know where we’ll be seeing more of Mj Rodriguez in the future: AppleTV+. The 30-year-old actor was recently cast in the streamer’s upcoming comedy series starring none other than Maya Rudolph!

Here’s what we know so far: the series, tentatively titled Loot, follows the misadventures of Molly (Rudolph), a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended when her husband leaves her with nothing but $87 billion. You read that right. Billion. With a B. Sounds devastating. According to Variety, Rodriguez will play Sofia, the executive director of Molly’s non-profit.

AppleTV+ gave the show the green light back in March with a straight-to-series order. The high-profile role is well-deserved for Rodriguez who has talked openly about the opportunities that Pose has opened up for her.

“I think the legacy of Pose simply is exuberant lives finally getting their chance and stapling it in the industry and stapling it in the realm of acting and making sure that there’s more space open,” she said at the show’s third season premiere a few weeks ago.

She also opened up to Deadline’s “New Hollywood” podcast about the lack of trans visibility on TV when she was growing up: “I never really saw a woman like me on the television screen,” she said. “I saw plenty of women on the television screen, but if they were a part of the trans community, I didn’t know…So, I didn’t really see a woman that was really vocal about her transness.”

Actors like Rodriguez, Patti Harrison and Laverne Cox are proof that that’s beginning to change. We can’t wait to see what Rodriguez gets to do in this new role. Opposite the always musically inclined Rudolph, maybe she’ll get to show off some more of her own musical chops!
