Nothing gives you a rosy flush quite like fresh mountain air and sub zero temperatures. Such was the case at the Miu Miu Fall 2021 show overnight, where models traipsed through the Dolomites dressed up in skiwear, sequins and slip dresses in what was arguably one of the greatest Fall21 fashion moments this season.
Despite the harsh elemental conditions, each model looks positively luminous – no doubt thanks to the handiwork of complexion whisperer Pat McGrath. Complementing the creamy, radiant skin was the perfect pinky-peach flush, taken across the nose and the apples of the cheeks. Lips were a similar soft, washed-out, rosy shade with a subtle reflective gloss on top.
And the master of sculptural hairstyles Guido Palau did a stellar job at combining sleek locks with fluffy Miu Miu bonnets. Instead of helmet hair, Palau instead put forward a look that was glossy and perfect with nary a strand out of place. Some pieces even seemed to tuck invisibly underneath headwear, and beneath the neck – how Palau pulled that one off, we’re not so sure.
In essence, it was a pared-back but incredibly beautiful look – ethereal skin, a romantic flush and shiny, expensive, rich-girl hair (perfect for après ski hour). Creative Director Miuccia Prada was inspired by the beauty of mountains and the grandeur of nature, and the end result captured the sentiment perfectly.
