A new album often heralds a new era—not just musically, but
sartorially. And no one understands the art of reinvention quite
like Miley Cyrus. Fresh off the release of Something Beautiful, her ninth studio album,
the pop provocateur has reemerged with a wardrobe that strikes the
most satisfying balance between raw and polished glamour we
crave.
In New York City, where the singer has been promoting the album
with a slew of appearances, her fashion choices have served as a
masterclass in modern rock ‘n’ roll refinement. Think an exciting
array of leather—thigh-skimming Mugler minis and oversized
motorcycle jackets—tailoring, and 70s-style eveningwear.

embellishments and lived-in fabrics—and hair,
too—the former Disney star proves the enduring power of
monochromatics.
Cyrus’s latest style era is as much a visual album as the one
she’s just dropped, embracing an edgy retro aesthetic with a modern
sensibility. Something beautiful, indeed.
