Miley Cyrus is ending the year on a high note: announcing her engagement to Maxx Morando, after more than four years together.
The news arrived after Cyrus, 33, and Morando, 27, appeared at the Hollywood premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, the singer wearing a particularly eye-catching sparkler on her ring finger. Hours later, People confirmed what most fans already suspected.
Cyrus and Morando first met in 2021 on a blind date set up by friends that, as she once told British Vogue, was “blind for me and not really for him.” Fortunately, the setup was an inspired choice, as the pair have been inseparable since then.

Friends say Cyrus always saw long-term potential in the relationship. As one insider put it at the time, she envisioned a “healthy, positive, and fruitful life with Maxx”—a refreshing shift after the more turbulent chapters of her romantic past.
In her recent Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Cyrus reflected on their six-year age gap and their differing worldviews, while also acknowledging a shared ease. “We just don’t take life too seriously,” she said about their bond. Creatively, they also work well together, with Morando collaborating on her Something Beautiful album, a process she described simply as inspiring.

As for the engagement ring, it’s a striking, more contemporary classic: a custom cushion-cut design by Los Angeles jeweller Jacquie Aiche, set on a 14-karat yellow-gold band. Chunky, sculptural yet still timeless, it’s a fitting silhouette for a modern bride.
