While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept a low profile this past year, Meghan Markle made use of her time in the spotlight with elegant ensembles. Tailored and refined, Markle has always been able to blend her sophisticated style with her signature Cali-girl flair.

A big year for Markle, the Duchess gave birth to her second child, daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor in June and celebrated her 40th birthday in August. In March of this year, Oprah’s explosive interview with Meghan and Harry was released, causing a media frenzy. Making stops on The Ellen Show in a crisp white Oscar de la Renta blouse and speaking onstage for Global Citizen Live in New York, Markle has managed to feed our insatiable appetites for her trademark brand of smart and timeless attire.

From carrying the iconic Lady Dior bag, named in tribute to her late mother-in-law Lady Diana, to bold style statements in fire engine red Carolina Herrera, Meghan Markle’s brand of personal style is the stuff of the chicest fairy tales.

Here, GRAZIA examines Markle’s best ensembles from 2021, from pristinely tailored business casual to exemplary evening wear.
