The 10th annual Location Managers Guild International Awards (LMGI) were held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California. The awards honor the outstanding and creative visual contributions by location professionals in film, television, commercials, and film commissions from around the globe.

Notable Winners:

John Wick: Chapter 4, All Quiet on the Western Front, and The Alberta Film Commissions  (The Last of Us) were the top film winners of the night, each taking home awards.

Highlights From the 2023 LMGI Awards:

  • Rick Carter presented the Eva Monley Award to Steven Spielberg: The Eva Monley Award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the advancement of location management. Spielberg is a legendary filmmaker who has used location scouting to create some of the most iconic and memorable scenes in cinema history.
  • Taylor Hackford presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dow Griffith: Griffith is a veteran location manager who has worked on over 65 films, including The Bourne Legacy and Jumanji. He is known for his passion for his work and his dedication to finding the perfect locations for his films.
  • Beth Tate received the Trailblazer Award: Tate is a location scout who has worked on films such as Twilight and Beverly Hills 90210. She is known for her creativity and her ability to find unique and unexpected locations.
  • The Creative Coalition was honored with the Humanitarian Award: The Creative Coalition is a non-profit organization that uses the arts and entertainment to promote social change. They have worked on a variety of projects to raise awareness of important issues such as climate change, gun violence, and immigration.
