When you picture the Kardashians, positive body image does not immediately come to mind given their affinity for unattainable beauty standards (read: Kim at the Met Gala). Kourtney Kardashian however has lifted the veil on the relationship she has with her body following her journey with IVF and marriage to Travis Barker.

In a new episode of The Kardashians, the reality star revealed that her more positive mindset has changed how she perceives her weight. Kardashian addressed the many internet rumors surrounding her pregnancy and noted that Barker has positively influenced her body image.

“Everyone always comments, like, in every photo [that] I’m pregnant, and obviously we wish that, but if it’s in God’s plan, then it is,” she said. “Every day, Travis is like, ‘You’re perfect,’ if I make one complaint, he’s like, ‘You’re perfect, you’re so fine… you’re so fine, you’ve never been better,’ and now I’m like—I’m so into it.”

“Having a partner who’s so supportive of me and always complimenting me no matter what, it’s just like helped me to really embrace the changes, and actually to the point where I love the changes now.”

Kardashian continued, adding that when she was more unhappy the skinnier she was. “My ass is amazing. I’m so into my thicker body. I looked at photos of my body when I was so skinny, it is cringey,” she said. “When I was super skinny, it’s like a time that I was super anxious. Not about eating, not about staying at a certain weight, but just like in toxic relationships. I used to always say this: ‘When I’m super skinny, just know I’m not happy’.”

It’s a polarizing change of tone in the series, particularly following last week’s episode when Khloé was beaming at the thought that her sisters were worried about her drastic weight loss.
