If there’s one thing Kim Kardashian has always managed to stay
on top of, it’s her flawless complexion. But while it sounds easy
enough to maintain gorgeous skin when you have all the money and
resources in the world at your disposal, the beauty mogul has
revealed that even in her 40s, acne is still a persistent
struggle.
Talking to Refinery29, Kardashian explained that
although she’s gotten good at covering it up, she’s prone to
intense flare-ups.
“It’s [concealed] really well under makeup,” she told the
outlet. “But I’ve documented it. I think if people saw it they’d be
really shocked to know that I had that experience.”
In another interview with Bustle, Kardashian opened up about how
she “never thought” she’d still be experiencing the condition at
her age.
“It’s really tough when your skin goes through a lot of changes
that you weren’t really expecting to go through,” she said.
And if you wondered what she does to keep her reactive skin at
bay, the billionaire, who told The New York Times said she would
likely “eat poop every single day” to look younger, has
indeed tried many treatments and miracle-promising products.
With top facialists, high-tech gadgets and expensive products in
her arsenal, the Skkn by
Kim beauty founder is focused on bringing her accumulated
knowledge to consumers.
“The line includes stuff that my estheticians would always put
together and use on me,” she told Bustle. “I’ve always
been someone who’s wanted to share all of my beauty tips with my
sisters and my girlfriends, so my brand has become a place where I
can share them with customers.”
At one point, when Kardashian was starting to get unexplained
breakouts, a facialist introduced her to pumpkin enzymes, a natural
exfoliating ingredient that isn’t too harsh on the skin. Raving
about the results, she credited an enzyme face mask as a big help
to her skin.
“Putting a little bit of pumpkin enzyme as a blemish mask,
sitting it on there — that’s how I first became aware of pumpkin
enzymes,” she said, explaining the thought process behind her
latest Skkn by Kim release, the Resurfacing Mask, which launched this month.
And in very relatable news, she also credited her long, acrylic
nails for stopping her from picking too much at her skin.
