You can never go wrong with a little black dress, and Kendall Jenner knows exactly how to rock it. On Thursday night, Jenner and boyfriend Devin Booker were seen arriving at Lucali in New York City for a friend’s birthday. Talk about arriving in style as Jenner stole looks with this outfit, minimal but bold in its approach.
Hair pulled tightly back in a sleek bun, Jenner took the scene last night by storm. The black dress was strapless and hit just above mid thigh. The fabric of the number had a sheen to it like a latex or faux-leather hybrid. The fabric was not completely black however, what could be mistaken for sheens of light at first glance actually are what appear to be light blue feathers or paint streaks.
While the black on its own is a striking enough statement, subtle pops of color make this outfit into something a little more dynamic. Jenner paired the dress with bright red open toed pumps. Matching with the shoes, was a bright red handbag.
While Booker was dressed casually for the event, in a navy shirt and pants combo, Jenner was the fashionable spectacle of the two. It arguably looked like they were going to two separate kinds of events. This is a far departure from the couple outfit matching trend we’ve been seeing this summer. But this isn’t necessarily a negative, as it isn’t necessary for couples to correspond when it comes to outfits.
In fact, it shows that the two retain a sense of personal identity and aren’t trying to play it up for the cameras. Going out as a couple, but still reminding everyone that they are respective individuals with unique senses of style in their own right.
