The Kardashian-Jenner family is no stranger to bold, eye-catching nails. Still, it’s usually more up Kylie Jenner’s alley to take to social media to show off a fresh new set of acrylics for her followers. But on Monday, November 9, sister Kendall surprised us with a perfect-for-fall manicure that’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen from the supermodel: caramel, square-shaped talons.
The fresh manicure was courtesy of Modern Pamper Salon in North Hollywood, California. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars have been going to the nail salon for years. It’s also a favorite among Hailey Bieber, Bebe Rexha, and Charli D’Amelio.
That said, Jenner’s no stranger to posting pics after a trip to the nail salon. In the past, she’s posted photos of dark brown, chocolate nails. But this is the first time we’ve seen her with such a unique hue as this one, and believe it or not, a comparable shade isn’t easy to find. Trust us; we’ve been on the hunt for hours.
We always know what to expect with nails when it comes to her little sister (the bolder, the better), but that’s not the case for Jenner. This past summer, she snapped a photo of a natural, no-fuss manicure. On the pic, she wrote, “clean is my favorite.” Unsurprisingly, her long, minimalist nails still looked chic.
But that’s not to say that she never switches it up. For Kim Kardashian’s 40th birthday party on a private island this past October, Jenner sported an inverse neon French mani. The tips of her nails featured a bright yellow color, and the base: an earthy green.
Jenner’s complicated nail history considered, we’re digging her glossy brown mani for fall 2020. The look matched her fuzzy brown coat perfectly, and the color aligns with the fashion industry’s current love for timeless neutrals.
If you want to recreate the look at home, New York City-based nail tech Trenna Seney recommends getting your hands on the Kiara Sky Gelly Tips Start Kit in Short Square, citing that it’s the perfect alternative for someone who is nervous about returning to the nail salon amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The nails are made out of gel but they are already pre-shaped, so there’s no need for filing,” Seney tells Grazia USA over the phone. The process takes some practice to perfect, but the result will be picture-perfect.
As far as the brown-toned nail trend goes, Trenna, is obsessed, just like us. “I love the brown and nude trend for fall,” she continues. “Normally, my clients ask for burgundy or dark olive green shades, but this fall, it’s all about various shades of brown and nude.”
The expert’s convinced that Jenner’s manicurist used more than one shade of nude polish to get her shade, which she says is “totally in right now.” But if you’re not in the mood to concoct a personalized hue, we’ve done the work to color-match the model’s manicure so that you can recreate the look at home (or bring the polish with you to the salon — we don’t judge).
Jenner hasn’t shared the deets about what nail polish color she chose at the salon, but we spent a large chunk of time researching, and this baby is as close as you’re going to get.
More drawn to the orange undertones rather than the brown? If so, we recommend adding this one to your cart. It’s more citrus-y than the shade from J. Hannah named “Fauna,” but it’s the perfect color to keep in your fall nail collection.
This shade is richer than Jenner’s nail color, but this shade will look stunning on darker skin tones looking to embrace the rusty brown hue.
