Kelly Osbourne says she is “back on track” with recovery after a relapse following almost four years of sobriety.
“This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery,” Osbourne said in an April 20 Instagram Story, revealing, “I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track.”
Osbourne, 36, decided she needed help and got sober in August 2017. The following year, she talked about how she was coping with her addictions by regularly attending therapy.
And in July 2018, the month before she celebrated being one year sober, Osbourne said on the British TV show Loose Women that “people need to know rehab doesn’t fix you, it just helps you get on the right track.”
“You’re never fixed,” she explained. “You spend your whole entire life doing everything you can to never pick up and use again.”
After her recent relapse, the Project Runway Junior judge promised on Instagram she was “sober today” and will be “sober tomorrow” and explained she’s learned the recovery journey “truly is just one day at a time.”
“I just want to tell you guys the truth because I never, ever want to lie to you,” she said. “Thank you so much for your support and your love.”
Osbourne plans to open up more about her recent struggle with sobriety on the May 4 episode of her podcast, “The Kelly Osbourne and Jeff Beacher Show.”
