Every Christmas, the British Royal family takes a walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham House. This year, it was extra-memorable for a few reasons. It marked the first Christmas the family gathered following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. It was also the first time it took place since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it marked Prince Louis’ official Christmas Day debut. The 4-year-old joined his siblings, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, with their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton. The family of five walked behind King Charles III and Queen Camilla, who were all dressed in their most festive looks.

Kate Middleton always keeps it on-theme for Christmas and chose a green look for the occasion. She rewore a favorite Alexander McQueen coat which she accessorized with a matching wide-brim fedora hat with a large feather. She chose another favorite — her go-to Sézane dangle earrings. She kept warm with brown gloves and coordinating brown high heel boots.

Princess Charlotte completed the green-and-red Christmas-themed color scheme with her mom Kate Middleton, in a red peacoat, with stockings and Mary Jane shoes. It happened to be the same coat the Princess wore to the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service at Westminster Abbey a week earlier.

Prince William wore navy blue, and matched with Prince George, also in the same-colored suit as his dad, and Prince Louis, who wore a collared blue coat with shorts and knee-high socks.

Other members of the royal family attended too, including Prince Edward, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. Prince Andrew was also there, as were his children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with their respective husbands. Princess Beatrice attended for the first time for the church service with her stepson, Christopher Woolf, who walked hand-in-hand with his father, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Ahead of the holiday, King Charles announced that he would be continuing the family tradition and host Christmas at Sandringham, the country estate in Norfolk that Queen Elizabeth loved.
