Well… There’s nothing exciting about staying in your lane..

This is something that Karina Michel, British-American Owner and Executive Producer of production company Tallulah Films, knows all too well. For Karina, the pathway into filmmaking was set 20 years ago. She began as an actor and model, exploring the fashion and entertainment industries for 12 years. She loved being on set but realized that her true passion was being behind the scenes.

She found producing to be the perfect blend of art, business, and creativity. Since then, she has gone on to produce award-winning films and documentaries that have screened at festivals worldwide and garnered critical acclaim.

What sets Karina apart from other producers is her commitment to using her platform to promote social change. She strongly believes in the power of film to educate and inspire and spark conversations. Her storyline often tackles women’s empowerment, body image, and cultural identity.

“I’ve always been drawn to stories that have the power to change hearts and minds,” says Michel. “For me, filmmaking is about more than just entertainment. It’s about using the medium to promote and change the narrative.” She is passionate about using her skills and experience to tell stories that make a difference.

“I’ve always been a bit of a rule-breaker,” says Michel. “I don’t like rules or conformity. I’m always looking for ways to do things differently, and I think that’s what has helped me succeed in the industry.” Michel’s approach has certainly paid off. She has worked on some groundbreaking projects that have pushed the boundaries of what’s possible and acceptable in filmmaking. Beyond films, she is also using her platform to raise awareness about important social issues and dedicate her time to local charities.
