It’s always a special moment when a celebrity power couple makes their red carpet debut. It sends a message to fans that things are going well, and they feel secure enough to be seen officially. In this latest red carpet debut, model Kaia Gerber and year-long boyfriend Jacob Elordi attended the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday. Oh yeah, and they were both wearing Celine in a couple-matching moment.

Gerber wore a jeweled beige gown, which harkens back to a simple style of old Hollywood glamour but with a twist of spaghetti straps to shift it into modernity. The gown, of course, was Celine by Hedi Slimane and the model had her hair pulled back with two pieces framing both sides of her face. It was a simple glamour on Saturday night, but Gerber wore it well.

Her boyfriend, Jacob Elordi, matched Gerber in a Celine Homme tuxedo also by Hedi Slimane, giving the couple a classic vintage aesthetic about them. Old Hollywood meets new Hollywood.

First spotted together in September 2020, Gerber and Elordi made their relationship Instagram official on Halloween of 2020, channeling yet another symbol of vintage Americana, dressing as Elvis and Priscilla Presley.

“Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions,” Gerber said for her June/July Vogue story. “Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”

Elordi also helped Gerber to prepare for her role on season 10 of American Horror Story, helping her to transition from her model persona into the world of acting.

“He’s a great person for me to go to because he’s gone to drama school and has years of experience that I don’t have,” Gerber said. “So I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m definitely going to be using you as a resource.'”
