The style was shared on Instagram by Chris Appleton, hair artist and the man behind those infamous Super Bowl waves (he works with the Kardashian/Jenner family often too). In short, it was huge: layers and layers of hair (some of it presumably extensions) tonged into perfectly bouncy curls while the sections around the face were pulled into tight ponytails – a very Emma Bunton as Baby Spice circa 1996.

The whole mood was finished by way of glassy clear lipgloss, thick fluffy lashes and a pair or rose-tinted, frameless sunglasses.

Appleton is known for his big, bold voluminous styles. As mentioned, he’s regularly the man behind Kylie Jenner’s retro blowdries, Kim Kardashian’s butt-grazing extensions and Ariana Grande’s larger-than-life high pony. He spoke out about Jlo’s Super Bowl look, explaining that he used “two different-sized curling irons and a hair dryer, before adding Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray” for maximum “flipability” and protection when she performs. Ain’t that the truth.
