Jessica Alba, the woman who basically invented the bronde hair color, has switched her hair color up yet again. This time, she debuted gorgeous chocolate brown hair, and it’s a welcome sight to see the queen of caramel-colored balayage give us something so new and different.
This isn’t the first time Alba has switched out her hair color — past hair colors have been in both blonde and red shades — but it’s so nice to see a darker shade from her. She shared the new darker tones in an Instagram post, captioning the photo (ironically) “Summer is all about color!” Yes, she’s referring to her colorful top, but it also could be a reference for the switch up in color for her. Hairstylist Brittney Ryan created the transformation, captioning her own post of the photo “Bringin her back to her Dark Angel days,” which… is likely the last time the world got to see Dark Haired Jessica Alba, which feels like an eternity. Ryan used color from Pravana and styled the hair using GHD tools and UNITE Hair Care to finish, giving a cool, beachy vibe that we all will be trying to replicate before the holiday weekend.
The pair even celebrated the impact of their transformation with a cheeky reel questioning whether Alba should do it… Spoiler: She did it. Of course, the look is topped off with a lip gloss from Alba’s own The Honest Company. She added to her caption, “& you already know how much I love a glossy (aka gloss-c 😜) lip”, and yes, we sure do. She’s rocking one of the brand’s Gloss-C Lip Glosses in a gorgeous peachy-pink color, making this a great summer look, even with a hair color you might use in the fall. There’s nothing better than going back to your roots… literally, like Alba did with her new shade.
