Jennifer Lopez attends The 2021 Met Gala Celebrating In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion at Metropolitan Museum of Art

Jennifer Lopez undoubtedly lands a place on the Met Gala’s best-dressed list every year — and rightfully so.

For the In America: A Lexicon of Fashion themed gala, the icon wore a Ralph Lauren Western-inspired ensemble, which seemed to be a big interpretation of the night’s theme. Fellow A-listers Pharrell Williams, Muluma, and Kacey Musgraves all donned looks inspired by the wild west. But we’re still not over Lopez’s standout fedora look revived straight from her Y2K wardrobe — and it seems neither can anyone else.

After Lopez gracefully walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in her knockout style, fedora searches surged to 8800% according to data gathered by Nastygal. Imagine having that power. But are we that surprised? The 52-year-old singer, actress, producer, and dancer quite literally put fedoras on the map and heads of every pop teen in the 2000’s. Once again, the proof is in the data.

The pop icon wasn’t the only one skyrocketing in analytics last night. After singer Leon Bridges hit the carpet dressed to impress with a dramatic fringed jacket (also very western), searches for fringed jackets increasing by a staggering 9900%. I mean, if you’re going to achieve the western chic look, you’ll have to commit fully.
