We definitely do after seeing the elegant styles from the new J.Lo Marry Me x GUESS collection, inspired by the new Valentine’s Day film released in theaters on Friday, February 11 — also available for streaming on Peacock.
Marry Me, directed by Kat Coiro, tells the story of pop superstar Kat Valdez — played by Jennifer Lopez — capturing her chaotic adventures finding true love in a social-media dominated society. Minutes before marrying her fiancé and duet partner, Bastian — played by Columbian singer Maluma — the music icon found out her soon-to-be husband had been cheating on her. During this horrific moment, the stunning star locked eyes with a fan named Charlie Gilbert — played by Owen Wilson — and decided to marry him instantly.
Throughout the rom-com, Kat Valdez embodied many similarities to J.Lo’s own career and life. The international music star even shot a commercial for GUESS, that later appeared as a taxi advertisement. Costume designer Caroline Duncan was inspired by the 52-year-old actress’ time as the actual face of the global lifestyle brand, for Valdez’ look in this scene.
While we won’t spoil how the romance-filled film ends, one thing we can confidently confirm is that we are head-over-heels in love with the J.Lo Marry Me x GUESS clothing collection that the brand has launched!
