Emerging R&B talent from Chicago, Jade Latrice, shared a picturesque music video for her soulful single “The More.” The track carries deep and profound emotions that show the young artist’s vulnerability and urge to hold on to happiness and comfort. Directed by Alexi, the visuals featuring the singer-songwriter and Allante Terry, capture the song’s “fading away” theme. The track, a powerful and compelling ballad, recently charted on iTunes. If there ever was an indicator that this track is on its way to R&B legacy, it’s surely this. With over 1 million views on YouTube and counting, Jade latrice has picked up a hefty momentum and there is no stopping her now.

“While working with Makeba Riddick-Woods from Young Dreamers Agency and Cheo Green from Vector Management, we were able to produce a dope visual that aligned with the fade away concept. To display spending time and the hopeful feeling of not wanting to lose those moments and connections as I pursue life goals and dreams,” explains Jade Latrice.

The Chicago native manages to shut out insecurities in the most subtle and graceful way possible. Promising never to forget, she sings: “I know it’s hard to be away now/ But it seems to make me closer to you/ Don’t let time take away what we built yeah/ Things change but the feelings stay true/ I am the one you know you can count on/ Trust me I will always have your back/ Even if memories start to erase yeah/ We gon’ get ’em right back.”

“The More” walks a fine line between reveling in wistful memories and clinging to a past that, though familiar, might restrain one from moving forward and achieving their goals. Jade Latrice opens up about those poignant feelings and says: “Leaving to go to college or even to pursue your hopes and dreams is a bittersweet moment as you are trying to grow as a person, and you sometimes have to leave the ones you love and care about in order to do so.”

With a rich discography that includes the songs “Somebody to Somebody,” “I Like It,” “I Choose Me,” and the most recent “Pull Up,” Jade Latrice successfully integrates her broad influences into her tracks. Inspired by the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Aaliyah, Ella Mai, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Mary J, and Lauryn Hill, the fast-rising singer blends different genre elements such as R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop.

Following “The More,” Jade Latrice plans to drop a new EP next summer.
