Metallics are having a moment. We are seeing lots of shiny bags, shoes and clothes and as a “more is more” type of gal, I’m loving it. But I know the extra shimmer can seem a bit intimidating. But instead of starting off small, let’s just jump right into it by talking about metallic pants. Shiny, colored jeans aren’t the easiest or most versatile piece of clothing on the market, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t fun. To ease you into it, I’m going to break down how to style metallic pants in a few different ways.
Simple and Sleek
If your style skews a bit more neutral and you tend to opt for sleek, classic items, but you’re looking to add a touch of glam to your look, try this outfit formula. Swap out your simple black trousers for a pair of silver faux leather pants. Style them the exact same way with some wardrobe hero pieces like a cashmere sweater and chic overcoat. Throw on a pair of sneakers to maintain that casual feel and viola!
Try a Color
I know metallic pants are a tough sell, so pink metallic pants might seem crazy. But as shown above, they’re really not. The key to this look is all about balance. The shiny pink pants are the star of the show, so the makeup, shoes, and colorful dotted cardi all complement that pants without competing for the spotlight.
Go Full Glam
Like I said before, I’m a more is more kinda gal. So, if I’m doing metallics, sometimes it’s fun to just go all out. I love how digital creator Nina Sandbech went ultra glam in these gold flares. The cropped jacket with the shoulder pads combined with the oversized flower choker is the perfect amount of “extra.” I also love how she didn’t shy away from metallic accessories by adding the gold belt and shoes.
