Only a few can truly say they have found their calling in life, and Maida Khan is one of those fortunate few. With over 15 years of experience in the makeup industry, Maida has made a name for herself as a talented and compassionate makeup artist. Her dedication to her craft and her community has made her a sought-after makeup artist who not only enhances her clients’ natural beauty but also strives to make a positive impact in the world.

Maida’s makeup artistry is truly one-of-a-kind. She has worked with high-end luxury cosmetic brands such as Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Shu Uemura, Make-up Forever, Bobbi Brown, and many more. With her expertise and knowledge, Maida’s approach blends a traditional style with a modern flare.

Maida’s exceptional skills and dedication have earned her recognition and accolades. Her work has been featured in Oprah magazine as one of the top 80 DIY Halloween looks. She has also worked with the top 20 contestants of the Miss Universe Canada Preliminary pageant, showcasing her ability to create stunning looks for high-profile events that were internationally broadcast.

What sets Maida apart from many other makeup artists is her philanthropic spirit. She is a charitable makeup artist who donates $10 from each service to organizations like Yellow Brick House, which provides shelter for abused women and children, and Humanity First, which offers relief and support to local and global communities. Her passion for helping those in need is a testament to her kind and generous nature.

Maida was always complimented on their makeup skills by friends and family and eventually decided to pursue certification as a makeup artist. Despite coming from a South Asian immigrant family, where makeup artistry was not seen as a viable career option, she continued to follow her passion. While Maida’s siblings pursued more traditional careers, Maida found fulfillment in her creativity and artistic expression. Her parents encouraged her to consider more conventional paths, such as studying business administration or working in an office, but Maida remained steadfast in her pursuit of makeup artistry. As her skills grew, she transitioned from freelance work to becoming a full-time instructor at Glow College in Toronto. Seeing the passion of her students further motivated Maida to continue thriving in her chosen field.

According to her, “I believe that makeup is not just about making someone look good on the outside, but it’s also about making them feel good on the inside. It’s a way to boost confidence and make people feel their best.”

She steered forward while working as the lead international makeup artist for fifteen years in Glow College. During this time, she honed her skills and expertise, which caught the attention of Air Canada, who invited her to instruct beauty image training for their ground and air staff in Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. This became a turning point in her career. Her work also took her to India, where she taught master classes at the Kolentine Academy, which was voted Best Bridal Academy four times in recent years by reputable industry organizations.

At Myda K Artistry, Maida’s goal is to make her clients look and feel as beautiful as they truly are. Her friendly and professional demeanor, along with her exceptional skills, make her a sought-after makeup artist. Her passion for makeup artistry is evident in her work, as she creates stunning looks that enhance her client’s natural beauty.
