There are many reasons to admire Helena Christensen. She was one of the original supermodels, co-founded Nylon magazine, and is a long-time supporter of climate change action and breast cancer research. She is also one of the few people on this earth whose fringe always — and I mean always — looks good.
This week, Helena Christensen, 53, hosted an intimate dinner with Noble Panacea, a science-based sustainable skincare brand founded by Sir Fraser Stoddart, who is a recipient of the Albert Einstein World Award of Science.
In an Instagram post about the event, Christensen noted that she admires the beauty brand “not only for their green chemistry, dedication to responsible, cruelty-free beauty and reusable, recyclable packaging but also for their commitment to empowering and mentoring women.” Christensen also shared what will inevitably be the haircut inspiration for every woman currently trying to decide whether or not to take the leap and get bangs.
Wearing a red slip dress and matching lipstick, Christensen reminded us why she’s been the poster girl for bangs for years. She matched the ruby red look with a black handbag and subtle bronzed eye makeup.
In October 2021, Christensen’s long-time hairstylist Marianne Jensen told Vogue Scandinavia the secret to the supermodel’s perfectly styled hair. “I blow-dry Helena’s hair with the biggest round brush I have. That being said, I don’t want too much volume, so I work the brush to smooth her own texture and make it more sleek,” said Jensen. “Then I run a big tong through her hair to make sure her hair is shiny and healthy looking … If the hair looks ‘too done’ I’ll use a bit of dry shampoo with texture to play around a bit with the hair.”
