Summers in the Hamptons require the perfect wardrobe of beach-ready basics with stylish pieces for nights on the town. That means you need the ultimate wear-everywhere accessory that both refines and elevates any outfit, from tennis whites to flowy dinner party gowns. Enter, the newest Harry Winston timepiece joining the brand’s Ocean collection, the Ocean Biretrograde Diamond Waves Automatic 36mm.

It’s the new sporty-chic release from the storied jeweler, launching June 1, which was specially designed for everyday wear. But that’s not to say it skimps on diamonds — quite the contrary.

The white gold timepiece with two retrograde displays features 33 bright blue baguette-cut sapphires and 51 baguette-cut diamonds on the dial that were designed to mimic rolling waves. Aquatic themes carry strongly throughout the piece (another reason this is Hamptons-ready). There’s a mother-of-pearl dial, and the hours and minutes are arranged into a droplet shape, surrounded by diamonds on the sides and a “stream” of blue sapphires below.

The use of blue not only matches the spirit of the Ocean collection; but also, it’s a nod to the rare 45.52-carat Hope Diamond that was acquisitioned by Harry Winston himself in 1949. It’s still an important color of the House of Harry Winston to this day. Another important factor that makes the watch a classic is the brand’s signature emerald-cut diamond at 12 o’clock.

The case features 18K white gold set with 72 baguette-cut diamonds and a diamond-set structure around the winding crown — a reference to the legacy of the brand and the arched stone entryway of the Fifth Avenue Flagship Salon. The strap comes in white alligator leather with 18-karat white gold buckle with 24 baguette-cut diamonds.

While the whole piece is certainly dazzling, it really was made for everyday wear, per the brand’s press release. It has 100-meter water resistance, it harnesses natural motions of the wrist to power the watch’s mechanical automatic movement, and the balance spring is made from silicon, which resists magnetic and thermal fluctuations. It encompasses everything the Ocean collection, Harry Winston’s most versatile line, is known for, evoking “sporty allure and sophisticated elegance.” Plus, it looks spectacular with a tan.

The Ocean collection launched in 1998 as the designated sport pieces of the brand and the perfect “companions” for daily adventures. Continuing the legacy, the Ocean Biretrograde Diamond Waves watch ensures “smooth sailing between sporty activities and glamorous events.” As summer starts to wind up, it’s time to make this your accessory of the season.
