After nearly five years, Gwyneth Paltrow is making her Hollwood comeback for the upcoming Josh Safdie-directed film Marty Supreme.
Starring alongside Timothée Chalamet, it’s unclear who the Goop founder will be portraying, but as photos emerge from the film’s set, fans are beginning to understand what might’ve enticed her back to the screen.

Behind-the-scenes footage captured Paltrow, 52, and the Dune star, 28, acting out a highly intimate scene under a bridge in New York City. In the photos, Paltrow bestows Chalamet with a necklace as the two rendezvous at night. She is then pushed up against a wall by Chalamet, who passionately kisses her. She seems to kiss back before pushing him away.
Chalamet, who is still going strong with girlfriend Kylie Jenner, is dressed in a retro suit, while Paltrow, who has been married to Brad Falchuk since 2018, sports a red satin ball gown with long black opera gloves and chandelier earrings.

Though not too much is known about the plot of the sports drama—which seems to come second to Chalemet’s incredible wardrobe rotation—it also stars Tyler the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
The film marks Paltrow’s first role in years after the wellness enthusiast decided to step back from acting.
“I really stepped away from acting when Apple was born,” Paltrow told People magazine in 2023 about her screen hiatus. “The last time I was in every scene of a movie was when I was pregnant with her.”
“When I had her, it just, everything felt redefined for me, and I thought, ‘I’m not sure that I want to do this so much as a career’.”
