Fashion week looked different this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Designers traded in-person shows for virtual presentations, and protective face masks became a street style accessory. Even though Paris Fashion Week officially ended on October 6, Givenchy just decided to temporarily turn the world on its axis by surprising its followers with a major social media takeover.

Matthew M Williams became Givenchy’s new creative director of the label’s women’s and men’s collection in June 2020. His first Spring-Summer 2021 collection officially launched last week, and the American designer decided to celebrate the newness by creating an Instagram fashion show of epic proportions on Friday, October 16.

Givenchy owned the Internet with a social media fashion show, in which the stars posted photos of themselves modeling the designs in their homes. Celebs like Kendall Jenner, Naomi Campbell, and Barbie Ferreira posed in the label’s new pieces (which are all available now, by the way). According to Williams, each star was assigned to model a specific look, similar to a real, IRL fashion show.

“Givenchy family takeover everywhere,” Williams posted via Instagram. “So thankful for everyone’s love and support 🙏🏻🖤 and I am look 39! @givenchyofficial.”
