Gigi Hadid’s Spicy Vodka Pasta recipe has taken the world by storm since its inception on social media in early 2020. We, of course, immediately jumped on the trend to recreate the dish at home during lockdown. But now it appears that the creamy sauce is good for more than a steaming pot of pasta. It’s actually the perfect base for a homemade pizza.

On Valentine’s Day, Hadid posted to Instagram as she cooked delicious-looking pizzas. In the corner of her story, she tagged Queer Eye star, Antoni Porowski, saying, “we were into the vodka pizza sauce idea.” On the host’s own Instagram stories, Porowski has shared a spin on the tomato and vodka sauce, inspired by American restaurant @emmysquaredpizza.

Cancel your evening plans, you’ll want to try this recipe ASAP.

Antoni Porowski’s Homemade Pizza

Makes 1 pizza

Ingredients:

Fresh or pre-made pizza base

Gigi Hadid’s Spicy Vodka Pasta sauce (see recipe below)

Grated mozzarella

Basil pesto

Buffalo mozzarella

Method:

Prepare you pizza dough or pre-made base on a cooking tray and slather with Spicy Vodka sauce.

Sprinkle on a thin layer of grated mozzarella.

Generously dollop basil pesto in the middle of the pizza.

Layer the entire pizza surface with plenty of buffalo mozzarella.

Cook at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until the cheese starts turning golden (cooking time depends on your oven).

Serve and eat immediately.

You could try a number of topping variations with the vodka sauce. For those unacquainted with the creamy pasta iteration, see the full recipe below. Just remember to swap out the pasta for the sauce only.

GIGI HADID’S SPICY VODKA PASTA

Ingredients:

¼ cup olive oil

1 small clove of garlic, diced

¼ green onion

¼ cup tomato paste

½ cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon vodka

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1 tablespoon butter

¼ cup parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil, garlic, and onion. Cook until soft. Add tomato paste and cook until it appears “darker [in color] / a bit caramelized,” says Hadid.

Add in the heavy cream. Add in the vodka and cook through until evaporated.

Add in the red pepper flakes. [There is a special note from the chef here to add in more flakes if you like your pasta extra spicy].

Keep stirring until combined. Season with salt and pepper. Remove sauce from the heat.

Add in the butter. Stir over medium heat til the butter has melted and the sauce is “sauccyyyy,” says Hadid.

You’re welcome. And once you’ve tried the above dish, Bella Hadid makes a mean Chicken Katsu Ramen.
