After launching her new swimwear collaboration with Frankies Bikinis in May, Gigi Hadid and the swim label are back for more. The second drop of their playful, limited-edition capsule collection launched this week and there are still styles to score before they’re bound to sell out.
Hadid first teamed up with her childhood friend, founder and creative director of Frankies Bikinis, Francesca Aiello in May, creating a quintessentially Americana collection of both swim and loungewear.
In keeping with the original theme, the new assortment continues to feature delicate ruffles, dainty bows, and whimsical fabrications from pointelle and toile, to eyelet and terry cloth.
The most standout print is the toile on the Fawn Ruffle One-Piece, depicting a mother and baby deer, perhaps as an Easter egg tribute to Hadid’s daughter Khai Malik. For the second collection, Hadid and Aiello have included even more bikinis, one-pieces, leggings, loungewear, and coverups. The collaboration also marks the brand’s foray into mommy-and-me childrenswear offerings, dubbed Lil Frankies.
Photographed by yet another childhood friend, Alana O’Herlihy, the campaign is set in a rural area, conjuring the image of an ethereal forest-nymph. Hadid and Aiello pose in their cheeky bikinis on cars, in cabins, with bunnies and dogs, inducing a nostalgic, youthful spirit.
You may have spotted a new style on Hadid (and her sister Bella) last week. Gigi sported the special Fawn Ruffle One-Piece in blue at the Gigi Hadid x Frankies Bikinis launch party in the Big Apple, while her sister Bella opted for the same piece in tan while stepping out in Cannes, France.
