Following the release of Wonder Woman 1984 in cinemas last month, Gal Gadot is looking to her next action-packed project. Today it was announced that the actress would front Heart of Stone, a spy thriller directed by Tom Harper and developed by Skydance Media. A report from Deadline has described the forthcoming film as the first step to a potential female-centric iteration of Mission Impossible or James Bond.

Not much else is known about the project; however it was also revealed that streaming giant, Netflix, has nabbed worldwide rights to the film. Gadot took to Instagram last week to tease the project. She was wearing green sweats and reading from a script.

“Getting ready for the next big thing! I absolutely love the feeling before a new project – the excitement, the intrigue, the nerves…,” she posted. “Can’t wait to get back on set @pilotwavemotionpictures.”

The latest production from Skydance comes after the sale of The Tomorrow War to Amazon last week, which is already completed. Heart of Stone is yet to be shot. Gadot will also co-produce the film alongside writers Greg Rucka (The Old Guard) and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures).

The 35-year-old will have a big year on Netflix with the release of thriller, Red Notice, also starring Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson. The short synopsis reads: “In the world of international crime, an Interpol agent attempts to hunt down and capture the world’s most wanted art thief.”

Gadot will also appear in the hotly-anticipated Zack Snyder’s Justice League headed to HBO Max soon. In breaking news, the new cut of the OG film will arrive as a four hour-long film instead of the planned four-part miniseries, according to Comingsoon.netYou can expect the same performance from Wonder Woman, however, as it was revealed in late-December that Gadot did not return to re-film Justice League.

Watch this space, Gadot is set to have a big 2021.
