Farm Rio has dominated the Brazilian market for over 20 years. The clothing brand has captured the beauty, color, vibrance and feminine energy that Rio de Janeiro is known for — and you may have spotted its celeb-loved printed puffer jackets and colorful resort wear on the likes of Yara Shahidi, Lili Reinhart, Gwen Stefani and many more Hollywood A-listers.
The label was founded by Katia Barros and Marcello Bastos in 1997, has now evolved into one of the most beloved fashion brands in the South American country. They have built their company off of the mantra “let’s dress in happiness.” Today, Farm Rio has not only embodied the energy of the seaside city, but it has caught the attention of fashionistas globally, and is currently expanding within the American market with the launch of its first Los Angeles store.
Farm Rio opened the first US location back in 2019 in SoHo, New York City. In the same year, the brand hosted a pop-up location in Venice Beach, Los Angeles. Now, three years later they have a brick and mortar store located in the trendy Los Angeles neighborhood, where it all began. The new location will open its doors on Monday.
In a statement given to WWD, CEO Fabio Barreto told the outlet, “We’re so excited to be back in this incredible city (following our 2019 pop-up also in the neighborhood) and to welcome in existing customers and new ones.” He then explained, “Venice Beach has the same energy as our hometown, Rio, so this new store really feels like our home away from home. This opening also marks an important step in our global expansions efforts, following locations in SoHo (New York), Miami and Paris in the last few years.”
