Last night’s Emmy Awards kicked off the official start of awards season, the personal favorite season of both me and Schitt’s Creek‘s Moira Rose. As a deep lover of both television and awards shows, it’s always nice and emotionally complicated for me to watch the actors and actresses from my favorite shows compete for their rightful recognition for achievements in TV. And yes, the 2021 Emmy Awards were… can I call them “alabaster”? When it comes to the winners, and aside from an incredible standout speech from the forever remarkable Michaela Coel, it was a dated three-hour-long production that happened to feature Dr. Phil for some reason.
But for every minute that the ceremony itself dragged, the fashion and beauty were worth talking about. A mustache-less Jason Sudeikis in teal velvet Tom Ford, Michaela Coel in custom Christopher John Rogers, Issa Rae with lavender eyeshadow and a grill… and we haven’t even tapped on Anya Taylor-Joy’s updo, because she is doing way more on the red carpet than ever deserved. It was night of hair, gorgeous beauty, and I’ve gathered them all in one place so we can celebrate them forever.
