Bursting onto the scene as Princess Diana in season four of The Crown last year, Emma Corrin immediately became one of the world’s hottest and most in-demand actors.
Soon after, the fashion world took note when Corrin coupled up with Harry Styles’ stylist, Harry Lambert, and started posting incredible COVID-missed, would-have-been red carpet moments to Instagram, catapulting cool new British brands like Nensi Dojaka to fame in the process.
Now, Corrin, who just finished wrapping on the upcoming film My Policeman alongside Styles, is letting their fans—663k and counting—share part of their personal life: the journey towards buying their first chest binder, a material worn across the breasts to give the appearance of a flatter chest.
In three black and white portraits, Corrin showed themself wearing a boxing wrap tied around the chest, prior to purchasing a binder. “Some time before I bought my first binder,” the actor captioned the series of images on social media, tagging photographer David Simon. “‘We used boxing wrap, thanks for capturing this with me, very intimate, very new, very cool,” they continued.
“It’s all a journey right. Lots of twists and turns and change and that’s ok! Embrace it, [sic]” Corrin added.
The actor, who briefly added their pronouns—she/they—on their Instagram account, before later removing them—tagged the trans-owned company g2cb, which manufactures binders, in the post.
According to gc2b, their binders feature ‘a patented front and back, double panel, mixed material design to construct a flat appearance through superior tissue distribution and comfortable compression’.
Corrin’s post comes weeks after the Golden Globe winner captioned a post calling themselves queer. Sharing an image from a shoot with Pop magazine, in which they wear a wedding dress and veil, Corrin wrote, ‘Ur fave queer bride.’
Corrin’s binder post was met with praise and support by many, including the likes of actor Tommy Dorfman who wrote, “I love you so much”, musician Arlo Parks who wrote “angelic”, and designer Harris Reed, who wrote “Angel.”
