Boxer shorts have been making their way from the sheets to the streets lately. The item once reserved for sleeping is getting a high-fashion update thanks to luxury labels like Dior and Marni, who featured models in their boxers on the Spring-Summer 2022 runways in September. Now that the season has finally arrived, celebrities are bringing the trend IRL with their street style attire.
Take Emily Ratajkowski, for one. The model is known for her trend-forward takes on unconventional pieces (remember Ratajkowski’s risqué take on the Canadian tuxedo last year?). Now the model is showing us just how the boxer trend should be executed while out in Florence.
Last week, the model shared a series of photos with her 29.4 million Instagram followers taking in the sights in the Tuscany capital. Ratajkowski posed in a crisp white boxer-bralette combo with her son, Sly. Putting a casual yet chic spin on the look, she paired the ensemble with a semi sheer shirt unbuttoned, a dainty pearl necklace, and matching white sneakers. She captioned the photo “🤍firenze🤍🤌”
Ratajkowski isn’t the only style icon making a case for boxers at the moment. Just last month, model Bella Hadid shared photos of herself on a tropical getaway in St. Barts with her beau, art director Marc Kalman, soaking in the sun post Cannes Film Festival. For her seaside ensemble, Hadid opted for a matching bikini- boxer set in a cornflower blue hue. Like her fellow model, Hadid layered the outfit with a matching button-up, transforming the look from swimwear to an oh-so chic summer ensemble.
