Last year’s lockdown was more or less defined by what we binged on Netflix, Emily In Paris being one of the most obvious. The slightly-cliche-but-wonderfully-escapist mini series followed Lily Collins as Emily Cooper: a marketing executive who transfers to Paris for work and gets caught up in the romance of the city while she’s there.

With season two slated for release on December 22, we’ve been given a few glimpses into Cooper’s upcoming wardrobe — including the tiered lilac gown worn in the promotional poster, as designed by French label Magali Pascal.

The Magali Pascal Botanic dress was originally part of the SS21 collection, but has since been recut by the brand for a special relaunch in November. Made in-house in Bali (where the brand has four boutiques) the style has already sold out three times, with the fourth restock coming due to huge consumer demand.

“The Botanic Dress was part of our SS21 collection, a season of bold styles designed to escape the barriers imposed by lockdown,” says Magali Pascal designer Emily. “The exaggerated ruffles, the open back, and the high-low skirt were an expression of celebration, returning to finding joy in dressing again. As a strong-headed woman that goes after what she wants, Emily’s character embodies the Magali Pascal woman. She is bold, playful, brave, but it is her independence that really resonates with the brand.”

The final restock will be available for preorder from November 22, with estimated delivery in mid December — perfectly timed for the premiere of the second season.

It’s a pretty special moment for the small designer, given all the eyeballs that will no doubt zero in on Cooper’s entire wardrobe. If you want to get your hands on a piece, be sure to sign up for email alerts via the brands website — it’s sure to disappear quickly.
