Usually it’s the models, influencers and muses that serve up street style inspiration, but over the course of the past week, Donatella Versace has shown New York City what it means to stop traffic.
The creative director of her family’s namesake fashion house has never traditionally shied away from serving a look (she is Italian, after all) but each Instagram post detailing her current NYC fits is better than the next.
There’s the below yellow latex-looking dress with towering gold stilettos; the black leather pant and khaki green bomber combination — complete with gold-rimmed aviators; and finally the all-black ensemble paired with a sky blue Peekaboo bag. Each one is bold, expertly-curated and completely aligned with the Versace house codes of glamour, embellishments and unmatched Italian craftsmanship.
Her signature bleached hair is also having its moment in the sun (quite literally). The long length and heavyset side fringe are a Donatella signature — but the shade of blonde seems to have lifted to an incredible shade of butter.
And then there’s the makeup: flawless skin, bold lashes, lots of smudgy liner (even in the morning) and a glossy beige lip is her go-to. It’s the commitment that makes it even more fabulous — Donatella isn’t someone you’d catch with un-styled hair or a bare face (but we wouldn’t have it any other way).
It almost feels as if Donatella knows she looks incredible, detailing all her looks for the world Instagram. The house of Versace has always stood for power, femininity and glamour, so to see her in a pair of gravity defying platforms and an impeccable blowout wondering through the streets of Soho just feels right.
