On Tuesday March 2nd, Dolly Parton shared with fans on Instagram a very exciting moment from the campus at Vanderbilt Research Medical Center. The country singer called out to fans, “Well hey it’s me! I’m finally gonna get my vaccine. I’m so excited!”

“Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” she wrote on Twitter.” To commemorate her enthusiasm, Parton even tweaked the lyrics from “Jolene,” one of her most famous songs, to fit the occasion. She sings, “vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine… I’m begging of you please don’t hesitate,” encouraging fans to get the vaccine to the tune of the hit song. Listen to the rest of her rendition in the video below.

In typical Dolly fashion, the fan favorite was dressed in a purple sparkly dress and mask to match in preparation to get her first round of the vaccine. She reminds us in the video you “gotta look good” even when getting the vaccine. She decided to dress in a cut out sleeve number to be perfectly prepared for the task at hand. Would we expect anything less? Never.

Parton, 75, shared her experience from her day at Vanderbilt expressing her full support of the vaccine and to serve as an example to how we can try to “get things back to normal.” The Jolene singer states, “I’ve been waiting a while, I’m old enough to get it. And I’m smart enough to get it.” She encourages everyone that the sooner we get to feeling better, the sooner we get back to normal.

Vanderbilt thanked Dolly for her continual support and her efforts to help “bring an end to the global COVID pandemic.” In November, the 9 To 5 star, donated $1 million to the Vanderbilt Research Department to help fund the Moderna Vaccine. Fans all around have claimed her to be a hero of 2020, and there is no stopping her. Thank you, Saint Dolly!
