Dior Fall 2022 in Seoul

Destination shows have been at an all-time high this year — partly due to COVID-19 travel restrictions finally being loosened and designers ready to let their imaginations run wild. And what better way to announce you’re landing in a foreign country than by working with some of the most famous names there — especially when they just so happen to be brand ambassadors. This is the case for Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who just released three fashion-filled teasers of what’s to come on April 30 when she brings her Fall 2022 show to Seoul, South Korea.

To get fashion aficionados excited about the collection debut and Dior’s first-ever show in South Korea, Grazia Chiuri enlisted K-Pop sensations and Dior ambassadors BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, actress and former Miss A singer Bae Suzy and Gold medalist competitive figure skater Yuna Kim. Each of the women conveys their connection to the South Korean capital in a series of clips.

“Seoul is like home to me. The familiar atmosphere and scenery give me comfort,” says Jisoo in the short clip. “When traveling through the city, I enjoy the scenery of Seoul from the car, and it always gives me a sense of excitement and happiness.”

Suzy echos her sentiment, adding, “Seoul is a place I have a special connection with and where I find myself improving day by day, receiving positive stimulation and inspiration from people who live busy lives.”

Kim adds, “Seoul is the city where I live now. It’s dynamic and lively. It’s a 24/7 city that does not sleep.”

“This year, the House is forging new powerful ties with South Korea,” says Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, in a statement shared with GRAZIA USA. “From our partnership with Ewha Womans University – as part of our Women@Dior program highlighting transmission, education, and sisterhood – to the Dior Fall 2022 show in Seoul, we are more committed than ever to celebrating creative dialogues and cultural plurality,”

Make sure to grab a coffee if you’re planning on watching the Dior livestream — the show starts at 8 p.m. KST in Seoul (7 a.m. EST.) In the meantime, watch the stars discuss the South Korean capital city through their eyes, above.
