Like mother, like daughter! There’s just something about seeing a legacy of glamour and style being passed down to the next generation, and up-and-coming model Grace Burns is the perfect example. Supermodel Christy Turlington Burns’ 19-year-old daughter is continuing in her mom’s fashionable footsteps, and they just posed together for photographer Georgina Millet in a new Carolina Herrera campaign.
Turlington Burns shared photos on Instagram from the shoot. The first slide featured the supermodel smiling while sitting at a picnic table in a field. Then, she posted a close-up portrait of herself and Grace wearing white button-down shirts and scarves tied around their necks. After that, Turlington Burns shared a photo on horseback in the Spanish countryside.
She wrote, “Thank you @carolinaherrera for the dreamiest of days riding through beautiful Andalucia with my daughter on horseback. I’m so grateful for the memories, some of them captured here…❤️.”
Grace shared a set of dramatic black-and white images – first, by herself modeling a handbag while wearing a little black dress and the next, alongside her mother also carrying the handbag, wearing an oversized white button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves and black trousers.
She captioned the post, “Indescribably grateful to have had the privilege and opportunity to be apart of this experience! All the love in the world to every single divine human who made this possible!!!!!!!! Tears of love and love and more love!!!! Xxxxxxx.”
Turlington Burns shares Garce with her husband of nearly 20 years, actor Ed Burns. They also have a son, 17-year-old Finn.
Grace’s rise in the modeling industry comes as no surprise. Fellow ’90s supermodels have seen their children chart similar paths, including Cindy Crawford’s kids Presley and Kaia Gerber, Carla Bruni’s son Aurélien Enthoven, Helena Christensen‘s son Mingus Lucien Reedus, Heidi Klum’s daughter Leni Klum and Kate Moss’ daughter Lila Grace Moss Hack.
Grace and Lila are actually very close friends, drawing many to compare the duo to their mothers’ friendship back in the 1990s during their rise to fame. Christy and Grace sat next to Moss in the front row of the Fendi Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show.
Grace posted a birthday homage to Lila last week and the comments section filled with people referring to the pair as “mini wagons,” referencing Naomi Campbell‘s endearing nicknames for their mothers.
In the ’90s, Campbell was engaged to the U2 musician Adam Clayton. She and Moss often visited Ireland, where Bono’s wife Ali Hewson dubbed them “the wagons.” “Kate was little wagon and Christy [Turlington] was the original wagon,” Campbell told the Sunday Times in 2016.
As we watch the next generation of supermodels take over for their mothers, we can’t wait to see who breaks into the industry next.
