In March 2020, Chloë Sevigny posted a photo of herself wearing a white veil posing in a tee and cradling her baby bump. At the time, she wrote the pics were for a shoot she’d done a few weeks ago with Supreme, but fast-forward one year and the Oscar-nominated actress just revealed the veil wasn’t a prop, it was from a real wedding that took place that month: her own wedding.

Last year, there was speculation Sevigny had tied the knot with her partner, art dealer Siniša Mačković, after she was photographed wearing a wedding band during the summer. But in her perfectly casual way, the 46-year-old took her time to announce the news, choosing to share the announcement on the couple’s one-year anniversary.

On Instagram, Sevigny posted a photo from her secret New York courthouse wedding to Mačković, which took place on March 9th 2020 when she was just a few months away from giving birth to the couple’s first child. “Married on a Monday March 9th 2020. Happy one year anniversary my love,” she wrote.

Naturally, Sevigny didn’t go the traditional route for her wedding dress, opting to ditch white and instead, wear top-to-toe black. Highlighting her baby bump, she wore a long-sleeve, knee-length, figure-hugging black dress with matching black tights and pistol boots. Sevigny wore her blonde hair pulled back underneath her white veil and held a small bunch of white flowers in her hand. Her beauty look was minimal.

Mačković matched his wife’s eccentric wedding look, wearing a black suit with wide-leg trousers and a pair of T-bar chunky black boots. He wore a sprig of baby’s breath attached to his lapel to match Sevigny’s bouquet.

Sevigny and Mačković, who have been in a relationship for almost two years, welcomed their baby boy in May 2020. In October, a nude Sevigny and her baby bump graced the cover of Playgirl’s relaunched print edition in a spread that was shot in March—the same month as her wedding.

“It was just something that was supposed to happen,” Sevigny said of her pregnancy in the shoot. “In my early 40s, when it hadn’t, I was like, ‘I have to sort of actively try and make this happen’ … and then I struggled for a while,” she explained.

Of the night she got pregnant, Sevigny said, “We had a night out dancing and drinking and went home … and then it just happened, and it stuck, which I had had trouble with in the past. And I was like, ‘Wow, this one — he/she — wants to be here.’ ”

Congratulations to the happy and ridiculously stylish couple!
