I think every person remembers watching Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” music video for the first time and saying to themselves “I’ll remember exactly where I was when I saw this,” or at least, I did. The cultural shift the music video brought was one of vibrancy and empowerment, in an otherwise bleak summer. But in now looks like the WAP” universe is expanding, with Megan Thee Stallion teasing another potential collaboration.

The two rappers, Cardi and Megan, took to Twitter on Saturday to celebrate the one year “Wapiversery,” coined by Megan, of the song and music video’s release. The 26-year-old powerhouse rapper, Megan, tweeted “Thank you for having me. I think the people deserve another collab.” Since “WAP” was released, Megan hasn’t shied away from other risqué works, which seek to empower women’s sexuality, power and autonomy.

Cardi B, the now pregnant 28-year-old, chimed in on the “Wapiversery” as well, writing on Twitter “Wow I can’t believe wappity WAP turned one today, it don’t even feel like it. What a record! @theestallion we should do it again sometime.”

Even Halle Barry had something to say about it! The 54-year-old joked around online and posted “unseen footage” from behind-the-scenes of the “WAP” music video, which was just stitched in clips from her 1997 comedy B.A.P.S.

The smash hit soared to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list and went six times platinum. You just can’t argue with that kind of critical acclaim, it’s what the people wanted to see.

With the memory of Megan and Cardi’s performance of “WAP” during the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, where Megan flung Cardi around by her leg, fresh in everyone’s memory, how could you not want to see a future collaboration? Additionally, “WAP” made infamous rounds in conservative media and commentary as something that was too raunchy and explicit, but in reality it ust gave the song more clout.

Cardi B responded to the critique with a simple phrase, in typical off the cuff Cardi fashion with a simple “Ya needs to stop with this already! I’m not jojosiwa!”
