Models on the beach for summer? Groundbreaking.
Irina Shayk, 35, Candice Swanepoel, 32 and Joan Smalls, 32, took to the beach Wednesday for a dance party and promotion for Swanepoel’s new line of beachwear. The newly launched bikini collection, called Tropic Of C is a collaboration with the fashion company Revolve.
The three models had a fun time, covered in sand and getting their rays to display bikinis that are all about straps and wraps. A lot of the styles in the collection showcase animal print and vibrant colors, almost an homage to the infamous early 2000s combination that we know and “love.” The other styles range from basic neutrals to citrusy oranges and reds that just scream summer.
Swanepoel, who is a mother of two and former Victoria’s Secret model, is not wasting any time to make her mark on the summer-wear industry. The collection, which dropped yesterday, is already making rounds with rave reviews and interested buyers across the internet.
The styling around this shoot seemed to focus on a “natural” approach to beachwear and a day in the sun. The makeup was neutral, the hair was either put back completely or ever so stylized to achieve a wind-swept and slightly wet mane. All of the images posted seem to be steeped in a sepia-toned filter that highlights the warmness of summer. If this isn’t incentive to go to your local beach, I don’t know what is.
Joan Smalls took to Instagram to make a post about the campaign, writing “So lucky to call these 2 incredible women friends. Thank you for always inspiring me and keeping me on my toes… @angelcandices @irinashayk”
