What’s the craziest thing you’ve done after a few drinks? Called an ex? Told your friend what you really think about her outfit? Maybe an ill-advised tattoo? How about changing your name legally to John Cena? That’s what one British man did after what must have been a very drunken night out with his friends.

And he’s not even a wrestling fan.

John – formerly known as Lewis Oldfield – told The Sun newspaper: “We’d had a few drinks and were play-wrestling. We were just messing around, pretending to do announcements like in WWE and one of my friends was introducing John Cena.

“One thing led to another and they dared me to change my name to John Cena.”

The 23-year-old considered getting the name tattooed on his body but in classic British fashion decided the only option was to follow through on the original dare.

“I always follow through with dares so I just did it,” he added. “I actually don’t mind the name so I’m going to keep it.”

Still, it wasn’t as easy as just making the decision though – he then had to pay $55 and fill out six legal documents to change his name legally, including with his bank. And to really make sure it was all fully legal, he even spent $104 on a brand new passport. What a lad.

John’s mom is on board as well, with the Bradford-based restaurant worker telling the publication: “My mum couldn’t stop laughing at me when she found out.” His dad, however, was a different story and John admitted he had yet to tell his father.

John’s dad – if you’re reading this – we’d love to know how you feel.

Former wrestler John, 44, is now an actor and the star of the ninth Fast and Furious film, F9. He will next be seen in the upcoming The Suicide Squad with Margot Robbie and Joel Kinnaman.
