It’s rare that we get to see a Beyoncé and Jay-Z spotting, the couple has been famously known for their elusiveness from the public eye. In a video posted to Twitter, they were seen eating out at Duryea’s in Montauk, New York on what looked like a nice, sunny afternoon out.

While exciting, fans on Twitter are quick to point out why taking videos of the couple could be read as problematic and invasive. With one Twitter user writing “Beyhive why can’t we all just leave Beyoncé alone when she wants to be left alone. Like this is so weird filming her without her knowledge of consent.” Another person wrote “I hate that she doesn’t seem to have ANY privacy when she’s out & about, living like the rest of us. Look at where she’s sitting. It’s to protect her from getting accosted and bombarded by folks. Let this woman live!

While the public practice of filming celebrities out “in the wild” has been common practice for years, it’s important to question the ethics behind such privacy violations. On the other hand, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are no strangers to public attention, and at this point may be used to it.

This video comes after news that Jay-Z was seen in the Hamptons wearing a full Ivy Park ensemble in support of his wife’s collection with Adidas. The hip-hop star looked sharp in a bright orange shirt and short combination, with the sleeves of the shirt and legs of the shorts showing off the classic three-stripe moniker of Adidas. On top of the whole look he wore an embroidered, cream-colored bucket hat which said “East Hampton, NY.”

The pieces are a part of Ivy Park’s “Flex Park” swimwear collection. The collection ranges from one to two-piece bathing suits to summer slides and other beach-ready accesories. The Ivy Park team said in a statement that the “range aims to celebrate the empowered spirit of confident self-expression and individuality — positively and boldly.”
