As speculation about the state of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship runs rampant across social media, one unlikely arbiter has weighed in on the rumours: Jennifer Garner. Indeed, a source reportedly close to Affleck’s ex-wife and mother of his three children, Violet, 18, Fin, 15 and Samuel, 12, confirmed her support for the actor and director, explaining she only “wants the best for” him. "She wants him happy and healthy so he can be the best dad possible," said the insider. Garner didn’t comment on the reputed break up, but the anonymous informant added that the Suddenly 30 star “likes” Lopez for her “healthy lifestyle” and “support” of Affleck’s sobriety. “Jen wants that for Ben,” they continued. Lopez and Affleck reunited in 2021 after ending their long-term relationship and engagement in 2004. The images of the pair kissing on the streets of SoHo were hailed as evidence that love after heartbreak is real. (And undoubtedly served as the catalyst for some of us to reunite with a former flame). The couple were said to be having relationship struggles following the release of Lopez’s panned genre-bending romance musical, This Is Me... Now: A Love Story. Some tabloids had even gone so far as to say divorce was very much in the couple’s future, with Affleck no longer living at their shared Los Angeles residence. Subsequent public appearances didn’t help to quash this line of thought, as the Good Will Hunting star was seen without his wedding band on multiple occasions. Lopez is currently on a press tour for her latest release, a sci-fi Netflix film called Atlas, but is yet to comment on the reports herself. The couple allegedly spent Memorial Day weekend apart. Could it be the case that Hollywood’s greatest reunion story has already closed its latest chapter? It’s too soon to tell. But consider this an entry in the three-part anthology that is ‘Dear Ben’.

Ben Affleck may have only just received his divorce papers from Jennifer Lopez—and on their second wedding anniversary, no less—but it seems a new romance might already be on the horizon for the actor.

According to Page Six, witnesses have clocked the fresh bachelor spending time with Kick Kennedy (full name: Kathleen Alexandra Kennedy), the daughter of right-wing politician RFK Jr. and stepdaughter of actress Cheryl Hines. While the nature of the relationship is unclear, the duo were seen hanging out at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and other LA hotspots, leaving some to speculate what else could bring them together.

Though Kennedy’s politics aren’t known, her father has recently been making headlines for dropping out of the U.S. presidential election to endorse Donald Trump—a decision his brother, Max Kennedy, lamented he was “heartbroken” about, as Trump represents everything their father, RFK, stood against. Affleck, on the other hand, has long been a supporter of the Democratic party.

Kennedy, 36, was pursuing acting at one point but has reportedly shifted her priorities to philanthropy.

The news comes not a week after news of Lopez, 55, cited “irreconcilable differences” in her official divorce filing, following months of rumored relationship issues, which included Affleck, 52, moving out of their marital home.

According to a source, Lopez came to the painful conclusion that “it’s time to move on” for various reasons, reports People magazine.

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” they told the outlet. “He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself.”
