As with many celebrity birthdays we’ve seen this year, including Meghan Markle’s 40th, celebrations have been kept pretty low-key, and that applies to Ben Affleck as well. Last Sunday, on his 49th birthday, Affleck reportedly spent a quiet night in with Jennifer Lopez and and her 13-year-old twin children, Max and Emme, and no, there was no Dunkin’ Donuts involved.
Even though Bennifer has been all over our timelines since the beginning of their re-sparked connection, the couple seems like a quiet pair who don’t need much attention to enjoy their time together. There are no pictures or Instagrammable moments from the party, just a night in with family and those Affleck loves. A source close to Lopez said in a statement that the soiree was a “quiet celebration.”
“Jennifer had a cake for him. Ben is not one for big celebrations, so he thought it was perfect,” the source said. “It was exactly what he wanted.”
In the age of the pandemic, we’ve gotten used to downsizing special events for those closest to us, and it seems like this list of guests were the people Affleck wanted there most. Earlier on Sunday, Affleck spent some time away from Lopez with his own kids, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. He was seen with Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12 and Samuel, 9.
While Affleck was spending some family-man quality time, Lopez was out gift shopping for her boyfriend’s daughters. Lopez and her two daughters were seen at the Made by Mary jewelry station, reportedly picking out gifts for Affleck’s daughters Violet and Seraphina.
“When she stopped by the Made by Mary jewelry station, she and Emme picked out several ‘birth flower necklaces,'” the source said. “Including two for Ben’s daughters.”
No pictures or anecdotes have been shared from the party, but we can imagine it was a night full of love and celebration for the couple and their families.
