At the 2021 iHeartRadio Awards, Ariana Grande joined The Weeknd for a show-stopping performance. It comes just 24 hours after the artist released photos from her wedding day with Dalton Gomez from earlier this month. It’s not just the glitter eyeliner that has Grande with a twinkle in her eye.
Standing in front of a screaming crowd – one of the first live events since the pandemic – the duo belted out a live rendition of their collaborative hit, “Save Your Tears.” The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye) wore a sleek long-line jacket with a simple button-down shirt and blue tie. Grande layered two diamond necklaces courtesy of Anita Ko Jewelry upon a deep plum two-piece number. The set featured a floor-skimming silk pencil skirt and halter top.
The look was the work of Mimi Cuttrell, the same stylist behind Grande’s stunning Vera Wang wedding gown. Grande also revived her wedding hair – the half-up half-down do – with a more pared back approach for the performance.
“The absolute most beautiful bride,” Cuttrell wrote on Instagram in tribute to the pop star. “Wishing you and Dalton all the love and happiness in this new chapter of your life.”
After 12 months of dating, Gomez who works in luxury real estate proposed to Grande in December 2020 before marrying in secret earlier this month. The intimate ceremony (less than 20 people were in attendance) occurred at the artist’s Montecito home in California.
Just judging from Grande’s latest performance, it is clear she’s incredibly happy. The 27-year-old was previously linked with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson. The couple split in 2018.
