If you needed more proof Ariana Grande is one of her generation’s best singers, the 28-year-old pop star just dished a whole lot of it out in the form of covers of some of music’s great, including Britney Spears, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.

Appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s new game show, That’s My Jam, Grande went head-to-head with American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, whom she judges beside on The Voice, with each singer taking turns to cover songs like Spears’ “Oops… I did it again,” Houston’s “How Will I Know,” and Cher’s “Believe.”

Though the full segment doesn’t air until tonight—Monday 29th November—over the weekend, the first snippets of the iconic surprise performances began being shared online with both women absolutely nailing their respective covers, cheering each other on and providing backing vocals in the process.

When Clarkson sang Alanis Morissette’s “You Outta Know,” she was so good Grande bent over in shock, before coming back with a fiery rendition of Houston’s “How Will I Know.” From the videos we’ve seen, it was almost impossible to pick a winner, until Grande belted out Celine Dion’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

Of course, Grande has a bit of an advantage: her secret talent is impersonating other celebrities, whether it’s singing—as she’s demonstrated on Jimmy Fallon in the past—or doing uncanny Jennifer Coolidge catchphrases.

This week, the singer, who married luxury real estate agent Dalton Gomez at her California home earlier this year, found out her undeniably incredible voice earned her nominations for a number of awards at the upcoming 2022 Grammys (which airs on January 31, 2022), including one for ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’. She celebrated by hosting Thanksgiving at her house, sharing a rare photo of her husband in the process.

Anyone else ready for an Ariana Grande covers album?
